Our inspiring showroom, located in a quaint nineteenth century building with character, charm, and energy, displays our constantly changing eclectic inventory of furniture, art, and décor. Our backyard features a seasonal outdoor deck and garden store too! Falling in love with this building was the first step towards starting this business!
Our desire to start this eco-friendly business is a culmination of many events combined with the current retail economic climate and “green” awareness. Consumers are looking for value, service and environmental alternatives. We provide a Resale service for those Redecorating, Relocating, and for Estate Sales. Also, our goal is to become the Home Living Network Gallery for Long Island Artisans. We enjoy supporting our local talent and the relationships formed as new Art, Gourmet Foods, and Home Accents are discovered!
Cheryl Klesaris: At the age of 46, I started Home Again Treasures on Consignment, Inc with the true passion and desire to utilize my creative talent and experience to its full potential. The opportunity to start my own business has been a journey that brought me full circle. I grew up in Port Jefferson and left in 1981 to go to Boston College, majoring in Accounting. Of course, I should have gone to art school…
I spent 25 years in the Boston area and returned “Home Again” to Port Jefferson in 2006. I honestly created our corporate name referring to the Treasures having a Home Again! In any event, I have over 15 years of business experience, primarily in start-up companies taking them public. My last position in finance was the Corporate Controller of the Learning Company. After selling the company to Mattel, choosing to stay home with my newborn son, Gregory, I retired from a successful career in finance. As Gregory grew older, I had time to follow my true passion of Interior Design, Art, Fundraising, and Events…
After starting my Masters in Interior Design at the New England School of Design in Boston, I became a partner in an established Interior Design Company before moving back to Long Island. Truly loving Design and in today’s economic climate, I am interested in the eco-friendly service of finding a Home Again for Treasures that were once cherished in the past and have a bright future in your Home Again!
Community involvement is extremely important to me. I spent years as an event planner for fund-raising, mostly in education and local government campaigns. I have always held a role in my community, including School Board in Westford, MA, and PTSA Vice President of Port Jefferson Middle School. I am currently a member of the Economic Development Advisory Council in The Village of Port Jefferson, assisting to continue to beautify and expand our community.
I plan to continue my fundraising passion towards auctions and events in our store that will benefit schools and Long Island charities. Most recently, I was on the Long Island Elite’s Masquerade Charity Ball Committee. Raising over $28,000 for Long Island Charities, including the Education Assistance Corporation and Big Brothers and Big Sisters, the event was held in June 2009 at the Oheka Castle in NY.

Home Again is an Eco-friendly Resale Service built on passion and experience in Interior Design; Events, Community Support and Fundraising; Art; and of course, Business!

Scott Faber: At the Age of 50, you have tremendous reflection to what brought you from your past to your future…never really having complete control of what life has to offer or your true destiny. I am eager to join Cheryl in the furniture and décor consignment business. The events leading me to finding a Home Again for your Treasures is coupled with my personal experience of my own Estate Sale, as well as, my desire to start a new life.
I have lived on Long Island nearly my entire life, recently in Mount Sinai for 22 years until my wife passed away from cancer. I hired an Estate Sales company to sell the entire contents of our home. I unknowingly hired a company in the industry that was not reputable, many items did not sell or we practically gave them away. This company did not have the email following it had promised. So we had to have our own Yard Sale the next day…where was Home Again when I needed them! Cheryl encouraged me not to sell some of the true Treasures because of price or sentiment. She thought we should consign…however she could not find a consignment store in the area, so I took out a small storage unit. I am really looking forward for my Treasures to have a Home Again too…it is better than paying Public Storage. I know how it feels to sell or lose Treasures that have a history with your family and will show the compassion and caring you and your Treasures deserve. I truly want to make sure that people in my similar situation will not have to go through what I did during my Estate Sale.
After graduating RIT, 1981, in Packaging Science Management, I owned a printing company for 24 years. Being in the service business is what I do best. Home Again is not just a retail store…it is a true eco-friendly service. Never really leaving my customers without service, I am currently a Sales Representative for R & J Graphics, Inc. and Grey Packaging, Inc. I will continue to work in the graphics arts industry in the back office of Home Again Treasures on Consignment, Inc.
