Upon approval, your Treasures are displayed in our showroom for 90 days and you will receive 50% of the final sale proceeds. You don't need to worry about where and how to sell your furniture, we do it all! At Home Again your home furnishings can be converted into cash while we provide the service of finding a Home Again for your Treasures. Your “green” dollars are only one part of the Eco-friendly concept of Home Again.
To Consign Your Treasures Complete These Steps:
- Digital Photo Pre-approval: For larger furniture and accessory items that cannot easily be brought to the store, we must receive a digital photo for pre-approval by email. If you do not have a digital photo, you may mail a photo or bring one to our store. Include your name, phone number and a description of the item, including: size; approx. age; and if known, original purchase price; the original manufacturer and where it was purchased. Please make sure you note any flaws or “character” marks! We accept consignment items based on condition, seasonality, demand, and our current inventory.
Click here to send your photo for pre-approval. - Delivery to Home Again Store: You can bring your pre-approved items in during normal business hours or we can arrange for an appointment. Either way, we would like to know when you planned to arrive so that we are prepared to make room for your treasures. If your items were not fairly represented by picture, you may have to take them back with you.
- Third-party Pick-up Service: For your convenience we have arranged to work with a moving service that is reliable and affordable. If you need assistance to bring your treasures to us, please call for more information.
- Smaller Items by Appointment: If you have smaller items, you may send a picture or bring them to our showroom. We will examine items for acceptance. If you have many items and do not care to wait, you may drop them off and come back for final approval. Weekend consignments are by appointment only. Weekday does not require an appointment. Please allow plenty of time because buyers have first priority in the showroom.
- Pricing: Upon acceptance of items, Home Again determines the pricing with consideration given to condition, quality, brand, age, original purchase price, style, and most importantly buyer demand. The true value is set by demand. Priced too high…items do not sell and priced too low it is not fair to the seller/consignor or our business. We price and display your treasures to sell quickly for maximum profit for both of us.
- Consignment Agreement: Home Again (Consignee) will enter into an agreement with the seller (Consignor). Once the agreement is signed, it will mark the beginning of the consignment period and spell out the terms continued below. It will also give you the date your consignment ends. It is a simple contract that you can sign in our store.
- Consignment Period and Markdowns: The consignment period is 90 days from the date of the consignment agreement. During the first 30 days, Home Again will sell the item at the initial price. After 30 days, if the item is not sold, Home Again will mark the treasure down 20% off the original price. After 60 days, the item will be marked down another 25% off the original price. Priced right, most items will sell in 30 to 45 days. With these markdown policies, you have a good idea of what your treasures are going to sell for. We respect that they are your possessions until sold.
- Tracking your Treasures: Your treasures will be entered into our inventory and you will be given a customer number. Each Treasure has its own item number and tag for accurate tracking on our consignment software.
- Payment: Your will receive 50% of the final sales proceeds, including a fee for credit card charges of approximately 2%. It will be half of the actual fee charged. We enter your contact information with our bank and they will mail you a check by the 15th of the month following the sale of your Treasures.
- End of Consignment Period: Unsold Treasures not picked up within 5 days of the end of the Consignment Agreement become the property of Home Again and may be donated or disposed of at our discretion.
- Helpful Hint: Clean, polish, repair, etc. your Treasures for maximum profits.
- Acceptable Treasures for our Inside Store: Dining/Kitchen Tables and Chairs; Sideboards and Breakfronts; Coffee & End Tables; Bedroom Dressers and Headboards; Mantels; Oriental Rugs; Mirrors; Artwork from Paintings to Pottery; Upholstery pieces, including couches and chairs; Antiques and collectibles; China & Crystal; Treasure Chests; and All Other Gently Used Treasures for the entire Home, Indoor and Out!
- Acceptable Treasures for our Seasonal Deck and Outdoor Garden Store: Outdoor Patio and Deck Furniture; Café Tables and Chairs; Bird Houses and Baths; and Garden Accessories.
- Unacceptable Items: Mattress, Appliances, Electronics, Clothing, and Toys.
